A Crafternoon with Rev Dawn

No one in the Monday Group remembers more than 5 seconds quiet at a meeting before – but then no one had tried silk painting!  Rev Dawn shared out templates painstakingly piped on to pieces of white silk stretched across embroidery hoops to look like stained glass window panes.  Cries of “I’m not artistic” were ignored as the ladies mixed and dipped their specialist paint on fine brushes on to the silk.  Even Rev Dawn’s little grandson, completed a picture for his Mum.  The concentration was so intense a unique silence descended!  The only conversation was to appreciate and compliment each other’s combination of colours.

All the ladies proudly took home their silk painting hoop and smaller ones were painted and then mounted as gift cards to be sent to Georgetown  members who were on their hearts.

It was a truly delightful afternoon, made easy by all the preparations by Rev Dawn and Donna Rault, the new Circuit Administrator.  “Gone but repeatable” – hopefully!
